Proof of Concept for improving child safety completed


Factil is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant to develop a Proof of Concept system for sharing information nationally to ensure child safety, under the Australian Government's Business Research Innovation Initiative (BRII). The Proof of Concept grants were approved by the Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Minister Sinodinos, in September 2017. The BRII set five challenges, sourced from Australian Government departments, to solve problems that do not have current commercial solutions. Previously, Factil had successfully completed a feasibility study for the child safety challenge in this initiative, and the Proof of Concept grant was obtained through a competitive process based on the results of the feasibility study.

Factil's Proof of Concept proposal was based on our world-leading technology and capability for information modeling, data integration and application development automation. The Proof of Concept project will develop a secure, scalable, inter-agency data sharing system that provides matching, ranking and disclosure controls for information about children at risk and persons of interest. When complete, the solution will significantly limit the danger faced by vulnerable children by providing a secure, scalable and easy to use mechanism to share relevant child safety information nationally.
